Canadian National Parks June 11

Revelstoke, Glacier, Yoho, and Kootenay are Canadian National Parks before you get to Banff and Jasper.  Who knew?!  Well, not us till we closed in.

As we entered the Canadian Rockies, I reveled in the endless views of Douglas firs and other pines.  Because of a similar climate this area has the same coastal trees as the Oregon Cascades.

In Revelstoke, piper had a chance to watch trains while I went to hardware stores.  This time, one of the mirrored wardrobe door latches broke.  Definitely don't want those flying back and forth so I picked up spring-loaded curtain and fridge rods for the time being.  Seems to be working.

Main entertainment at Revelstoke National Park was the ski jump "renowned as one of the finest natural jumps in the world" at the time.

Revelstoke Ski Resort is in view.

And here's me, posed to jump!!

At Glacier National Park, besides a quick hike, we stopped at the Rogers Pass Discovery Centre and talked to a fascinating ranger from Quebec.

Tons of glaciers at Glacier National Park!
