After only 10 days notice, we co-camped at Lake Chelan State Park with Dawn and Tim from Seattle. We'd met them at Vermont's Elmore State Park last fall!
The Lady Express boat tour transported us 50 miles up Lake Chelan (3rd deepest lake in U.S) from Chelan to Stehekin, with stops along the lake at 3 docks to pick up several backpackers coming and going.Stehekin (67 residents and only reachable via boat, horse, or feet) is within the North Cascades National Park Complex, the least visited National Park besides Alaska's.
Upon arriving at Stehekin we jumped on the 3-mile red bus tour.
Main attraction was Rainbow Falls -- 312' drop. Here we are with our new Seattle friends Tim and Dawn.
What fun getting sprayed by the waterfall when we walked to the upper view!
